What if the idea you’re stuck on could change the world?
Through her ongoing journey of transforming childhood trauma via creative acts, Dr. Marion Piper explored a groundbreaking theory during her PhD research: what if creativity and posttraumatic growth are the same process?
Both take something challenging, process it through human ingenuity and resilience, and create something valuable. The main difference? Creativity produces tangible results you can see, where posttraumatic growth produces the intangible transformation within you.
This isn't theory. This is a proven method that literally transmutes pain into purpose.
Get Dr Maz in your corner with expert creativity coaching designed to expand your impact, reach and courage.
Unlike a life coach, a creativity coach won’t needle you about your limiting beliefs or push you to ‘quantum leap’.
Creativity doesn’t work like that.
It’s a process of connecting the dots in new and interesting ways so you can ‘Spiral Up’ through an idea.
It’s taking small steps, one after the other, with trust: in the process, in your own genius and an even deeper trust in the creative process itself.
Who you are…
-
You unapologetically dream BIG. There’s alway a few ideas or creative projects on the go and your brain moves fast. You get bored of normal life and constantly seek new adventures, new cafes, new restaurants and new people. You’re sick of small talk and yearn for a creative partner you can dive deep with.
-
The thought of doing just one thing makes you literally gag. When people tell you to ‘niche down’, you want to punch them in the face (you don’t, but still lol). You know there’s a way to do everything you love but you’re not sure where to start or what to prioritise. And that keeps you paralysed.
-
Your brain operates at a different level to everyone around you. Ideas overwhelm you, so much so that you struggle to start and don’t know where to stop. You’re a brilliant collaborator but find leading people challenging. And yet you lead a rich, unique life, often to the jealousy of anyone you share with it.
-
With dozens of wins under your belt already, you’re well on your way to new heights. But with each new success, you find that internal flame dulling. You know you’re meant for greatness but get easily distracted. Success, however, feels inevitable.

Through her ongoing journey of transforming trauma via creative practice, she developed a theory that creativity wasn't just helping her heal, it was the same process as post-traumatic growth itself. This insight arrived via groundbreaking PhD research (2017) that explored what a journey of post-traumatic growth feels like.
